The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan

Title: The Sword of Summer
By: Rick Riordan
Published: October 6, 2015
Source: Library

Magnus Chase has always been a troubled kid. Since his mother’s mysterious death, he’s lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, keeping one step ahead of the police and the truant officers.

One day, he’s tracked down by a man he’s never met—a man his mother claimed was dangerous. The man tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god.

The Viking myths are true. The gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Trolls, giants and worse monsters are stirring for doomsday. To prevent Ragnarok, Magnus must search the Nine Worlds for a weapon that has been lost for thousands of years.

When an attack by fire giants forces him to choose between his own safety and the lives of hundreds of innocents, Magnus makes a fatal decision.

Sometimes, the only way to start a new life is to die . . .

My first thoughts about this book was that it would be as amazing as the Percy Jackson series and it was! But even though it did live up to my expectations, I don't know why but the spark I felt when I began reading the book had gone away. Halfway through the book, the book honestly felt like it dragged on so much. Like honestly I really don't think it's the book, I just think it was me. I was in a bit of a book slump and I do think it affected me while I was reading this book.

OKAY. Moving onto the good aspects of this book that I really enjoyed. I really liked the characters in the book such as Hearth and Blitzen. They were sort of the comic relief in my opinion. Even though they are meant to protect Magnus, they do it in such  way that makes it so much easier to love them! But if I have to say the character whose truly the main comic relief of this entire book it would be Thor! I could not read a scene in the book that included him with a straight face. We all expected him to be some blond haired, hunky, handsome guy like from the movies but instead he's not what we all expected at all. Instead the one who truly looks like the Thor that we are all used to seeing is Magnus' father, Frey.

It was also really interesting to see the contrast between the gods of PJO and the gods of this book. Compared to the Greek/Roman gods the Norse gods to me seemed a lot more lax. But hey that might change since this is just the first book in the series. And as I said before Thor is pretty different. Odin is just amazingly unique with all those hobbies he harbors. Gods that I want to see more of though are Frey and Loki. Especially Loki, he seems to have so many tricks up his sleeves and I really want to know what he's planning. Cause at the end of the book it's so obvious that he's going to play a larger role in this book series as it continues.

Even though this book did drag at some certain points, Rick Riordan's books will never fail to make me smile and laugh. That is one aspect that I really love about his books. He comes up with so many new things in his books! Whether its Greek, Egyptian or Norse mythology, his books always intrigue me and sucks me into the world of mythology. They always make me want to learn more about the gods from the books! The way he even incorporates the myths into the book while adding his own little twist is awesome. Also lets not forget those awesome moments that the main characters of each respected book series had experienced crazy things. Like who doesn't enjoy falling down from the St. Louis Arch or being chased down by a killer squirrel on a sunny day in Valhalla?! *Evil laughs. To the people who have read this book already, remember the chapter 'I Lose a Bet'? Annabeth totally crushed him in the category of who had the crazier life*

Anyways in this book I honestly don't have any ships at all. I mean the main girl is already in love with someone else.. But I'm good with what we have so far in the book. We can wait and Rick might possibly bring a new female character into the book. You never know. I do like that Rick isn't that big in romance department, he lets it develop over the series as they continue. I mean even though he isn't that big in the romance department he's a genius when the romance finally blooms between characters. He makes us feel so connected to what the characters feel and that is what makes us such a huge fandom. I mean look at Percy and Annabeth?! They are amazing together and they are the ultimate power couple in my opinion.

The one thing I hope to see in the future books featuring Magnus would be that he meets Percy at least once throughout the series and see's Percy's sword. When he does I will be laughing so hard. Magnus is gonna choke on his words since Percy has a sword that camouflages as a pen! And the fact that Magnus hates the color blue?! What, is he going to do when he see's that his cousin is dating a guy who simply loves the color blue and eats blue food?! I really cannot wait for these two to meet! IT WOULD BE THE HAPPIEST MOMENT OF MY BOOK FANDOM LIFE!! xD

I personally will give this book 4 stars. So guys what are your thoughts about this book? Did you enjoy it and did it live up to your expectations? Also did any of you guys catch who Rick thanked in the beginning of the book? ;)

Until then, Cindy x)

Book Problems + Book Haul

Book Problems

1. So much books but not enough space!! D:

2. Contemplating on whether to get a book or not when you already have a massive pile back at home to read. >.<

3. Working at the library and seeing a book everywhere you turn. While having a internal conflict with yourself over if you should grab all the books you want and run for your life or turning around and trying to ignore all those books calling out to you saying "Read meee!!!' Take me home' You know you want to read me!" I mean "haha I'm not a book addict -looks both ways while smuggling some books home-

4. Needing somebody to smack and lead you away from grabbing too much books.

5. Seeing that one book you want so badly but can't cause your broke.

Well to tell you guys the truth I've been so sluggish not with just my blog but with books too.. I have so many books but I've been stuck on Magnus Chase: The Sword of Summer for almost 2 weeks. O_O I know weird right? I mean it's not that I don't like the book its just I've been so busy with midterms that I have not even finished a book by the great Rick Riordan! X_X And truthfuly I am so ashamed of myself. As I said before I actually do volunteer at the library, but I'm usually sorting out the kid books. But today was different.. Today I got to sort out Ya books! I just kept finding books to read but I managed to limit myself to getting only 5 books cause I already had 7 books at home to read! T^T I have to admit I have a problem... •-•

Well here's my current book haul of December-January.

Invincible by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Hey guys its me, I know I have been sluggish with updating my blog, today I will be reviewing a book from a series that I have been really enjoying!

Though I did not do a review for the first book, I assure you guys the first book is really good!! :D (Though if you guys want me to I will post up a review for the first book). So anyways Invincible the second installment to Kenyon's amazing prequel to the Dark Hunter series, The Chronicles of Nick, is something that will just keep you reading! I mean it might feel slow paced in the first couple of chapters and it progress' really nicely afterwards. I have to say I think I've fallen in love with this book series, it something that I really can't put down and I even read it in one whole day.

Nick Gautier the main character of this story was an instant hit with me and his personality and even all his quirks make him so lovable in my opinion. Though even Nick can't escape the generic boy characteristics of ya books, he is still unique and very different from most male characters I've ever read about in books. He's loyal to his bones, as sarcastic as he gets, and as Nekoda says he's somebody who doesn't know how handsome he is which makes him even more attractive. Talking about other characters, I really like Caleb and Bubba. Even if Caleb is protecting Nick because an ulterior motive, I do think he's changed his outlook of Nick since the first book. Because I really do think when push comes to shove, he will protect Nick from his father and not betray him, cause if he does not that'll just really break my heart since he and Nick to me are almost like siblings. Caleb's past though, I do hope it'll be revealed in the future books, because as bad as he acts sometimes it seems like he would rather not do them. Now on,to Bubba, sighs there are so many words that can be used to describe him. Eccentric, Psychopath, Lovable, Weird, Amazing.. Bubba did not really get included much in this book, but I really liked his character development in the first book. In this book we find out the reason why he's so eccentric and why he sells so many weapons instead of being in MIT, and trust me it is truly really sad and will make your heart heavy. But it also be really heartwarming at the same time when you learn why he owns such a store providing weapons and why he takes patrols at night.

I really love the kinda dark aura this book has which is something I haven't had the joy of having in a book since the Beautiful Creatures series! So anyways right now I'm on break so I will be reading a bunch of books that I've been behind on! I hope you guys who are on break also enjoy your time reading or doing whatever thing that makes you happy! :)

Until then, Cindy x)

Book Haul of November ♥♥

I haven't been able to really post much reviews or anything at all lately, but here are the books that I've got this month. & Also I recently got a position at my local library as a weekly volunteer so I'm really happy since I can get more books now! :D I also really love this batch of books I got this month, it's the best batch I have gotten so far in my opinion! ♥♥

Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas

Phew, just these this first book really blew me away and now I'm already halfway through the second book! So far I'm loving Crown of Midnight. Especially these Chaol and Celaena moments! They are so heartwarming and I smile so much and re-read those moments so many times when they come up in the book. I just love how they understand each other and how they depend on each other. Though I gotta say even if I never shipped Dorian with her, ohh the pain he must have felt seeing them together. Dorian just seems to always catch Chaol and Celaena at their intimate moments, and I just feel so bad for him! >:( I mean I do love him, though I just see him as more as a brother or best friend to Celaena then a lover. But as I am still on the topic of lovers, I hear their will be a new guy in the third book "Heir of Fire" and it is not looking good for the Chaol and Calaena shippers! :O I don't know how I'll feel about this new guy but I'll have to get their first, who knows they might even be my new otp. But for now it is Chaol x Calaena! Though one thing I notice about the first two books is that the concept of Fae keeps coming up, and Calaena keeps eluding us when the book alludes at her real name.

This is also another one of the new books series that I have recently started and I seem to be having a really good book streak because all the new books series I have started so far are really good! This book series really interest me since I realized I have not really read a series in a while that features a male protagonist. The first book starts off really great, indicating right away that Nick Gautier is a troubled teen in which danger follows his every move. As the book progress' we learn that he is actually the son of a very dangerous man, who will stop at nothing to make Nick fall prey to the dark nature of his powers. In this book series, we do learn as the book series continue Nick will only embark and encounter stronger enemies and find it harder and harder to resist the darkness that dwells deep inside him. I really do enjoy the dark element Sherrilyn incorporated into this book and I am looking forward to reading Invincible.

At first glance, this book seems like any another contemporary book about a normal girl who thinks she has found her one true love. But in reality this girl, Stella, feels anything but normal after getting a successful heart transplant. Instead this book turns a very harsh 180 degree turn from normal to what seems to be unnatural. Everyday Stella seems to encounter side effects from the transplant and her heart is always hurting, except around a certain new boy who has just transferred to her school. So determined that he is her soul mate, she spends every fleeting moment she has around him. But is this really the reason why her heart doesn't hurt when she is near him... because he's her soulmate? Nah, I personally just think that it's like a pseudo effect, since her heart does not hurt around him, she just comes up with whatever reasonable explanation she can come up with rather then finding it strange. So yeah this book to me has an obsession/dark plot and vibe to it in my opinion. I haven't read this book yet, however I have to admit I did read some reviews and that is why I know what the plot of the book will somewhat be.

I don't really know how I will feel about this book because incidentally, her other book series The Raven Boys I did not really mix well with. I mean I didn't hate it, I just sorta gave up on the book when I was halfway into it... I just did not feel a spark with it. So I really hope this book will redeem my opinion of her books because I heard this one was really good. While looking at the summary it seems very interesting, I just really hope this isn't another book that got too much hyped up attention.

I've heard many times of how so many people rave about how amazing this book is, so I gave this a shot and grabbed it off the shelf from the library on Saturday. I haven't read this book yet as I am still stuck in the world of Throne of Glass, but it is probably one of the many books that I will soon get to reading! Though I do think I'll probably enjoy this book since it seems that it shares some similar traits to Throne of Glass such as a kick ass female protagonist who's an assassin.

Getting this book makes me feel like I'm just trying to find another mythological book series that will be as great as the Percy Jackson series. I mean the PJ series took up a whole lot of space in my heart as it was one of the first ever book series to ever get me hooked onto books. Even though I got this book somewhat based on recommendations of it being as good as PJ, I do sincerely like the plot of this series as it is about Norse mythology which is pretty interesting!

Wow I am just so excited for this book and I cannot believe my library had a copy of this book already! When I got my hands on this book I literally spazzed out because of how new it looked and how nice the book felt in my hands! The summary of this book is so intriguing and I really can't wait to read this book! & Oh my gosh have I mentioned how beautiful the book cover is?! I just love the texture and design of the book cover especially the black wings. I really can't wait to find out the significance of why the group of teens in this book will be called the 6 of crows, I mean there are 6 characters so it has to have some sort of meaning. This plot is just so unique and I am really hyped up for this book!

So this is probably going to be one of my few posts of the month, but don't worry even though I'm not actively posting every single day, it doesn't mean I won't have time to comment back or check out new blog posts by other bloggers! ;) Anyways what are your thoughts about these books guys? Have any of you guys read these books, if so were they good? I'm open to discussion about the book, but please don't include any spoilers! ^^

Until then, Cindy :)

New Blog Design

Hm.. I haven't done designing in a while but I'm pretty happy with what I did with my work. Of course I don't do html designs but ya gotta manage by what you know how to do! xD I personally use pixlr to do my graphics and find pictures often involing like: tumblr border designs, tumblr backgrounds, tumblr black & white, or like tumblr transparent images. So yeah I pretty much just use tumblr a lot as a key word cause tumblr has some really nice pictures.

I kinda noticed I may of put too much pink, but I guess it does match my background! Anyways I will probably put up a review of Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead soon! ^^ And by the way have you guys heard of those book adaptions to tv shows? I have and I'm pretty excited to watch them. Especially the one for Cassandra Clare's book The Mortal Instruments, which I hope will come out not cliche and with a good plot line. I'm also hoping it won't be a mess like the movie, I mean I liked the actors but the movie just didn't stay true to the book that much. Though I do think that the tv show has better casting than the movie.

Until then, Cindy :)

The Coldest Girl In Coldtown

The Coldest Girl In Coldtown
By: Holly Black
Published: September 3, 2013
Source: Library

*I won't judge you guys if you want to skip this paragraph since its pretty long, I tend to go on and on about something I really like x.x But I applaud those who read this cause it'll be worthwhile I hope! 8D*
This book.. is really really something I've never seen before. It wowed me! I didn't really expect to see it but I saw Lady and the Tiger mentioned in this book a couple of times, like in the beginning and finally the end of the book. Wow, I may be wrong but I feel like maybe the book was based on the short story The Lady and the Tiger. This short story was one that I actually read and wrote a report about for English class my freshmen year and may I say *if the author really got the inspiration from the short story* that she has done an amazing job incorporating this story into the book. In the short story, there is a king and his beautiful daughter, the king ruled over the land and would punish people who he deemed where doing bad things. When he caught the people who were doing wrong, he would always bring them to the arena to be judged. When they are at the arena, they are presented with two choices, pick the door on the right or the door on the left. Simple right? No. The hard thing about this is that you wouldn't know which door held what, one of the doors would hold a tiger who would eat you alive in the arena and the other door held the most eligible and most beautiful girl in the land and you would get to marry her. This was a heinous judgement but the citizens wouldn't care since it was a source of entertainment to them. Now here comes the part where it involves the "Lady", don't forget the king had a daughter, and what father isn't protective of their daughters? Well the thing is, his daughter went and got herself a boyfriend who she was really in love with right under his nose and when he found out he was furious. He immediately separated his daughter from the man she so very much in love with and brought him to the arena to be judged. The princess who desperately wanted to get her lover out, resorted to do the thing her father, the king, would never think. She betrayed him and went to find out which door held what. So when the day of the judgement came, she told her lover which door held what and he trusted what she had said and chose a door. Hm.. somethings missing! I forgot to mention she has motive to lead the man she loves to his death! Why you may ask? Well its because as I said earlier if you pick the door that doesn't have a tiger behind it, you get to marry the most beautiful girl in the land and you guys guessed right! The princess hated that girl with a passion, she'd seen the way the girl looked at her man and she didn't like it. So yes in the end of the short story it doesn't tell you what happens after the boy picks a door because they want to leave it up to people's imagination. For me I personally think she lead her lover to his death because she couldn't bear the thought of her lover loving anybody else other then her. Psychotic? No, not really, nobody would want their lover to marry somebody else so why wouldn't you chose the option? But then again maybe it is, since she is basically saying "IF I CAN'T HAVE HIM, NOBODY CAN!! MWAH HAHAH".

Whew I felt like I was writing my English report all over again, which by the way I aced. xD Though I feel like this would've been maybe a tad better. Well anyways I really liked this book! It was amazing and I loved her character development. Tana was faced with two choices, leave the possible vampires who could totally suck her dry, or risk it all to save them. She chose the latter and it changed her life, LITERALLY. The moment she did that, she in a way chose the door to the Tiger or I guess the Vampire. I guess the two doors in this story would be Human, or Vampire. Tana's development in this story was seriously amazing, she had seen so many things but toughed it through and never changed. She never wanted to be a vampire but maybe in a way she did and her fate was sealed the moment it collided with Gavriel's. I mean you gotta love him, mysterious? Check. Total hunk? Check. Sane? A bit questionable but Check! Sarcastic? Check! He's got everything I love. ♥♥ One thing, I kinda wanted more in this story was more of Gavriel's background. It was really interesting learning about him, especially about his old life with Lucien. I really would've loved to see a chapter in his narrative. So yeah I kinda wanted to see more of his past, if Holly did like a side story with Gavriel as the main character and it's in his p.o.v and about his past that would be awesome! But alas I don't think that will happen.

So until then, Cindy x)

Book Haul of September-October

So here's a post to just remind you guys I am not dead! xD I just have been so busy these days, and my schedule just shortens the time I get to read but I have gotten quite a collection of books from the library this month (actually last month) so here goes! x)

~Books~

Well these are the books that I have gotten, and so far I am reading The Coldest Girl in Coldtown and it's pretty amazing, I just love her writing style, it's so good plus her story line is amazing it has so many twists and turns in the book which I love!! ♥♥ Also I'm currently on the Sarah J. Maas train cause I just discovered her book Throne of Glass last month and it was so good and I was really lucky to grab the second book from the library which I am so happy about! xD The only book I'm iffy about in this haul is Young Elites, because I didn't like Marie Lu's other series Legend.. but I'll give it a try since others say it's pretty good.

I can't really give you guys an exact schedule of when I'll update but I'll try to be as active as I can. The next review I can probably do is sometime this week or next week. (here's a dose of my life, lol) Gosh freshmen year in high school felt so easy, but now sophomore year just feels so busy since I have sports practice and homework to do. x.x I've been trying new things in my life like eyeliner which I like but still can't get the hang of it for a right look, and nail polish which I never really used much before. Nail polish personally feels so hard to use, how do people put on nail polish so perfectly? HOOOWWW?! Well.. clearly a dose of my life is too weird for you guys to handle so I'll stop now. xD So anyways thank you to those who patiently waited for my updates! :)

Until then, Cindy x)

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Throne of Glass
By: Sarah J. Maas

Source: Library

Just wow, this book was amazing it had everything I love in it, adventure, mystery, romance, & angst! Celaena has officially become one of the most badass heroine's I have encountered in the book world. I mean she's has wit, is snarky, and will never back down from what she believes in and I love it! Gosh, sometimes I felt like she was trolling us when we were trying to figure out who Celaena would end up with, like she would make those moments where Dorian and her would have, especially when she danced with him at the ball, or when they would talk together in her bedroom. But then there would be those moments where Celaena would have so much fun with Chaol and when Chaol is realizing slowly that he has become so custom to being with her that he becomes jealous without knowing when Dorian is with her. I mean Dorian he was so charming and the sort of boy I would've shipped with Celaena if Chaol wasn't there. - hides from the things fangirls of DorianxCelaena will throw at me- That's right I am a proud ChaolxCelaena shipper, and I personally think this is the right ship to be in! I mean she and Chaol are seriously good together, they have that tension in the air in the beginning but as time pasted it grew into something more that I hope to believe was love.

I really like Nehemia, she's the fictional best friend that I would've wished to have. She had secret's in the beginning and was suspicious, but she came through at the end and saved Celaena multiple times, and I would've liked to say that she's a Chaol and Celaena shipper! xD I also liked Nox, he wasn't like the other competitors and was such a sweetheart!! I mean he wasn't just a person that approached Celaena so that he could later betray her, he genuinely was a person who approached her because like her he didn't like the other competitors and was different. Though I will miss him, but maybe Sarah J. Maas will reprise him in the other books? I don't know but I hopefully am hoping to see both of these characters in the next few books!
~Favorite Quotes~
One things I've been hoping to do but haven't done on this blog was put up the book quotes I liked, I mean I love quotes so much I have a notebook full of quotes! xD & if I ever did quotes for the Infernal Devices.. well it would be a lot. Now back to the topic, here are some quotes that I loved from Sarah J. Maas' book Throne of Glass! P.S. There are gonna be a lot of quotes so I do hope you guys are patient enough to read them all! xD

“My name is Celaena Sardothien. But it makes no difference if my name's Celaena or Lillian or Bitch, because I'd still beat you, no matter what you call me.” - Celaena Sardothien
“With each day he felt the barriers melting. He let them melt. Because of her genuine laugh, because he caught her one afternoon sleeping with her face in the middle of a book, because he knew that she would win.”  - Chaol Westfall
“No matter what happens," she said quietly, "I want to thank you."Chaol tilted his head to the side. "For what?"
Her eyes stung but she blamed it on the fierce wind and blinked away the dampness. "For making my freedom mean something.”  - Celaena Sardothien
“Celaena," Chaol said gently. And then she heard the scraping noise as his hand came into view, sliding across the flagstones. His fingertips stopped just at the edge of the white line. "Celaena," he breathed, his voice laced with pain—and hope. This was all she had left—his outstretched hand, and the promise of hope, of something better waiting on the other side of the line.”  -Chaol Westfall from Celaena's point of view
“Enjoyed that, did you?" Chaol growled.
"Immensely." Celaena patted Chaol's arm as she took it in her own. "Now you must pretend that you like me, or else everything will be ruined.”  -Chaol Westfall and Celaena Sardothien
“She moaned into her pillow. "Go away. I feel like dying.""No fair maiden should die alone," he said, putting a hand on hers. "Shall I read to you in your final moments? What story would you like?"She snatched her hand back. "How about the story of the idiotic prince who won't leave the assassin alone?"
"Oh! I love that story! It has such a happy ending, too—why, the assassin was really feigning her illness in order to get the prince's attention! Who would have guessed it? Such a clever girl. And the bedroom scene is so lovely—it's worth reading through all of their ceaseless banter! -Celaena Sardothien and Dorian Havilliard
“Nor had she missed when they zigzagged between levels, even though the building was a standard grid of hallways and stairwells. As if she'd lose her bearings that easily.
She might have been insulted if he wasn't trying so hard.”  - Celaena Sardothien
“He won every game, yet she hardly noticed. As long as she hit the ball, it resulted in shameless bragging. When she missed - well, even the fires of Hell couldn't compare to the rage that burst from her mouth. He couldn't remember a time when he'd laugh so hard.”  -Dorian Havilliard
“I'm not ill like that," she groaned. He sat on her bed, peeling back the blanket. A servant entered, frowning at the mess on the floor, and shouted for help.
"Then it what way?"
“I,uh..." Her face was so hot she thought it would melt onto the floor. Oh you idiot. "My monthly cycles finally came back!"
His face suddenly matched hers and he stepped away, dragging his hand through his short hair. "I-if...Then I'll take my leave," he stammered, and bowed. Celaena raised an eyebrow, and then, despite herself, smiled as he left the room as quick as his feet could go without running, tripping slightly in the doorway as he staggered into the rooms beyond.” - Chaol Westfall and Celaena Sardothien
“What you did for me, Chaol,” she tried again. “Not even with Cain, but when you—”
“I have to go,” he interrupted, and half turned away.
“Chaol,” she said, grabbing his hand and whirling him to face her. She only saw the haunted gleam in his eyes before she threw her arms around his neck and held him tightly. He straightened, but she crushed her body into his, even though it still aggravated her wounds to do so. Then, after a moment, his arms wrapped around her, keeping her close to him, so close that as she shut her eyes and breathed him in, she couldn’t tell where he ended and she began.
His breath was warm on her neck as he bent his head, resting his cheek against her hair. Her heart beat so quickly, and yet she felt utterly calm—as if she could have stayed there forever and not minded, stayed there forever and let the world fall apart around them. She pictured his fingers, pushing against that line of chalk, reaching for her despite the barrier between them.” - Celaena Sardothien and Chaol Westfall
“Would you like to dance with me?”
He laughed. “With you? No.”
She looked at the marble floor, her chest tight. “You needn’t be so cruel.”
“Cruel? Celaena, Perrington is just over there. I’m sure he’s not happy about you being here, so I wouldn’t risk drawing his attention any more than necessary.”
“Coward.”
Chaol’s eyes softened. “If he weren’t here, I would have said yes.” (...)
“Anyway,” Chaol added, jerking his chin at Dorian, “I think you have far more attractive suitors vying for your attention. I’m boring company to keep.”
“I don’t mind being here with you.”
“I’m sure you don’t,” Chaol said dryly, though he met her stare.
“I mean it. Why aren’t you dancing with anyone? Aren’t there ladies whom you like?”
“I’m the Captain of the Guard—I’m not exactly a catch for any of them.” There was some sorrow in his eyes, though it was well concealed.
“Are you mad? You’re better than everyone in here. And you’re—you’re very handsome,” she said, taking his hand in her free one. There was beauty in Chaol’s face—and strength, and honor, and loyalty. She stopped hearing the crowd, and her mouth became dry as he stared at her. How had she missed it for so long?
“You think so?” he said after a moment, looking at their clasped hands. - Celaena Sardothien and Chaol Westfall
Lol I made it colorful, so you guys would be more inclined to read the quotes xD
But seriously why didn't I discover Sarah J. Maas earlier? So far her one book is so amazing, there's no telling how much more books I'll have to discover that are by her!

Until then, Cindy x)

Why I haven't been active

Hey guys I am not going to be posting as much anymore as you guys have seen these past few weeks.. I just have been really busy recently because school has already started for me and also because I have sports practice every day. So I'm really sorry that I won't be updating and adding reviews as much anymore but I promise I'll try to update whenever I'm not busy, I'll try to reply to comments, & try do tags that people nominate me for! :) Also I have started reading Throne of Glass, which I may say is awesome plus the storyline is so good! & For your information I ship Chaol and "Lilian", like I love there relationship. Though I haven't finished the book yet, I saw that little hint in the beginning that she has been using a alias since the King of Assassians officially made her his apprentice, so I'm pretty excited to find out her real name xD And omg I can feel that the history/story behind Sam will be sad!!! D: So anyways heads up cause when I finish the book I'll try to find some time to put up a review! ;)

Until then, Cindy x)

Blogger Recognition Award

First thing I want to say is I'm sorry I haven't posted this week at all! >.< I've been in a kinda book stump, I mean I have books to read but like I can't decide what to read because I also have a summer reading project and like I want to read one book but then I also have to read another book! It's been a disaster this week! But I'm gonna try to read all my books soon, so I can post reviews and stuff!
Okay getting back to the main topic, thanks so much Fiona @ A Girl Between the Pages and Erika @ Books, Stars, Writing, and Everything in Between for nominating me for the Blogger Recognition Award! ;)

Rules:

1. Select 15 other blogs you want to give this award to. Do some digging if you must! Find those blogs. You cannot nominate yourself of the person who has nominated you.

2. Write a post to show off your award! Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. List who you nominated in your post. Make sure to attach the award yourself!

3. Comment on each blog and let them know you've nominated them. Provide a link to your award post.

4. Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. That way, anyone can find the original post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing!

~How it all Began~
Alas the story of my blog has come to light! xD Hmm I guess I really missed the feel of having a blog where I could share my feelings about things I want to. So a while back I actually did have a blog but it was for a online game *as lame as that might sound* called Chobots, which by the way I no longer play. & back then as a blogger I was always self conscience, considering the designs of other people's blogs, or how they posted. But getting to the point of my reminiscence, while I was on goodreads reading reviews I saw how a lot of people had created book blogs sharing their thoughts and feelings and I was like hey why don't I give it a shot? So then for days I was always debating, "should I create a new blog about books or should I not?" and I did because I am here posting about an award! xD

Considering I'm writing the story of how my blog began which was not so long ago, I totally don't regret my decision. I have made so many new friends in the blogging community and hopefully many more in the future! So thank you so much to all those people that have shared their opinions about books out there that inspired me to make a book blog! ;)

~Tips~
1. Make your blog design something you like, be original, no that doesn't mean you have to come up with something so amazingly original nobody has done, it means that choose a background and make a header that YOU will like! Be yourself and don't overthink, because remember blogging is opposed to be fun!
2. Haha this is ironic, but don't forget to reach out to other bloggers and ask for tips! Don't worry they won't bite, because 99.9% they will be friendly and give you some awesome pointer! x)
3. This is gonna be a simple a straight forward tip, blogging is something that you have fun with, if it feels like a burden then blogging might not be for you. But if you feel like this is just a temporal thing and still want to keep blogging try taking some time off and then come back on and see if you still feel the same.

~Nominee's~ *>.< I am so sorry but I wasn't able to find enough people*
