Fangirl Review

First of all guys I'm so sorry for not posting for so long. I'm not even gonna lie, the reason was because I was way behind on my gigantic pile of books, and because.. I honestly didn't feel like blogging during May and June. I was just so busy with Finals and then it was suddenly summer and i'm now officially a Junior in High school!! :O That's some scary shiz. And the last reason was because I was thinking of not blogging anymore, but once I gave it some thought I decided to keep going. I mean blogging is fun, especially since you get to meet fellow crazy book lovers xD Well anyways finally after this long rant is the review! ;)

Cath is a Simon Snow fan.

Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan...

But for Cath, being a fan is her life—and she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through their mother leaving.

Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere.

Cath’s sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can’t let go. She doesn’t want to.

Now that they’re going to college, Wren has told Cath she doesn’t want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone. She’s got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend, a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is the end of the civilized world, a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words... And she can’t stop worrying about her dad, who’s loving and fragile and has never really been alone.

For Cath, the question is: Can she do this?

Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? Writing her own stories?

And does she even want to move on if it means leaving Simon Snow behind?

This book totally wowed me. & It totally also made me an official fan of Rainbow Rowell's writing! I mean I absolutely loved how her writing had so much depth and emotion behind it. It was as if we, the readers, were experiencing what Cath was going through ourselves. This story tells about Cath and her twin sister Wren, who has loved Simon Snow since they were kids. But as they're starting college her twin who's always loved the same thing as her decides that she needs to take a break from Cath and also that she doesn't want to room with Cath which devastates her. After Cath finds out, she also unknowingly takes a step into the big world that is college and meets her bi-polar roomate Reagan and her *boyfriend?* Levi. You can say that Fate *ahem Rowell in this case* has a weird way of putting people together.

The thing with this book is that almost all the characters are relatable and everything is not as predictable as you thought. This book seriously has a crazy way of growing on you, because the characters aren't perfect and the events are really realistic. Cath goes through so many struggles in this book, and it really feels like your right there beside her ready to punch those jerks  *the supposed good library buddy*. Fangirl isn't your typical Ya novel, its something different and I liked that. There was no love triangle, Levi is certainly handsome but he isn't some perfect light/dark haired, brooding, strong, guy. For heaven's sake he has a receding hairline. is on the scrawny side a bit, and is always smiling!! & For that I love him anyways.

“I feel sorry for you, and I'm going to be your friend."
"I don't want to be your friend," Cath said as sternly as she could. "I like that we're not friends."

"Me, too. I'm sorry you ruined it by being so pathetic.”

Now onto Reagan. She's one badass roommate. Although Cath initially thought Reagan hated her, she didn't. She just didn't talk to Cath, since Cath never talked to her. Eventually Reagan started talking to her saying that she would become her friend whether or not she liked it, and that is what began a life long friendship that included roasting people in the cafeteria!!

Once again, I'm so happy that a love triangle did not happen between Levi, Cath & Reagan because to be honest Cath is too much of a cinnamon roll to take on Reagan lol. So you guys should read this book because it'll give you cavities because of how sweet it is!! ^^ *Yes I know you guys can thank me for this later*

Until then, Cindy ^^

A Simple Post About Books

I couldn't think of a title for this post so it came to this. >.< But anyways I feel like I've really been behind on great old and new books. So here's a list of the books I hope to read in the future and hopefully get great responses about when I post reviews about them! Oh and tell me if you guys like the way I positioned the books or not. ;)

Title: The Love That Split The World
By: Emily Henry
Published: March 26, 2016

Natalie Cleary must risk her future and leap blindly into a vast unknown for the chance to build a new world with the boy she loves.

Natalie’s last summer in her small Kentucky hometown is off to a magical start... until she starts seeing the “wrong things.” They’re just momentary glimpses at first—her front door is red instead of its usual green, there’s a pre-school where the garden store should be. But then her whole town disappears for hours, fading away into rolling hills and grazing buffalo, and Nat knows something isn’t right.

That’s when she gets a visit from the kind but mysterious apparition she calls “Grandmother,” who tells her: “You have three months to save him.” The next night, under the stadium lights of the high school football field, she meets a beautiful boy named Beau, and it’s as if time just stops and nothing exists. Nothing, except Natalie and Beau.

Looking at this foreword, I'm totally know that this will be a roller coaster of feels. I really want to read this book, but I'm afraid that the book might be too hyped up. *which I hope its not*

Nothing much exciting rolls through Violet White’s sleepy, seaside town… until River West comes along. River rents the guest house behind Violet’s crumbling estate, and as eerie, grim things start to happen, Violet begins to wonder about the boy living in her backyard.

Is River just a crooked-smiling liar with pretty eyes and a mysterious past? Or could he be something more?

Violet’s grandmother always warned her about the Devil, but she never said he could be a dark-haired boy who takes naps in the sun, who likes coffee, who kisses you in a cemetery... who makes you want to kiss back.

Violet’s already so knee-deep in love, she can’t see straight. And that’s just how River likes it.

Title: The Trials of Apollo
By: Rick Riordan
Published: May 3, 2016

How do you punish an immortal?

By making him human.

After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disorientated, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the four-thousand-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus's favor.

But Apollo has many enemies - gods, monsters and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed. Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go . . . an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.

First of all, omg I cannot contain my feels and excitement about another Greek mythology book that might have Percy and the gang in it!!! :D It comes out literally tomorrow and I cannot wait!!!! I know that some people feel that Rick is just trying to get more money, but seriously if you have time to be hating/complaining about the book why are you even there?! I don't mean to start anything but like seriously some of us don't care if Rick is doing this to get more money or not, cause we absolutely would love to see more of the old gang even if they aren't the main characters!

Title: Summerlost
By: Ally Condie
Published: March 29, 2016

It's the first real summer since the devastating accident that killed Cedar's father and younger brother, Ben. But now Cedar and what’s left of her family are returning to the town of Iron Creek for the summer. They’re just settling into their new house when a boy named Leo, dressed in costume, rides by on his bike. Intrigued, Cedar follows him to the renowned Summerlost theater festival. Soon, she not only has a new friend in Leo and a job working concessions at the festival, she finds herself surrounded by mystery. The mystery of the tragic, too-short life of the Hollywood actress who haunts the halls of Summerlost. And the mystery of the strange gifts that keep appearing for Cedar.

Infused with emotion and rich with understanding, Summerlost is the touching middle grade debut from Ally Condie, the international bestselling author of the Matched series, that highlights the strength of family and personal resilience in the face of tragedy.

I'm really looking forward to reading this book, as I did read the Matched series and thoroughly loved the author's writing style. This book to me gives a feeling of nostalgic, and wanderlust.

Title: Panic
By: Lauren Oliver
Published: March 4, 2014

Panic began as so many things do in Carp, a dead-end town of 12,000 people in the middle of nowhere: because it was summer, and there was nothing else to do.

Heather never thought she would compete in Panic, a legendary game played by graduating seniors, where the stakes are high and the payoff is even higher. She’d never thought of herself as fearless, the kind of person who would fight to stand out. But when she finds something, and someone, to fight for, she will discover that she is braver than she ever thought.

Dodge has never been afraid of Panic. His secret will fuel him, and get him all the way through the game, he’s sure of it. But what he doesn't know is that he’s not the only one with a secret. Everyone has something to play for.

For Heather and Dodge, the game will bring new alliances, unexpected revelations, and the possibility of first love for each of them—and the knowledge that sometimes the very things we fear are those we need the most.

Title: For Darkness Shows the Star
By: Diana Peterfreund
Published: June 12, 2012

It's been several generations since a genetic experiment gone wrong caused the Reduction, decimating humanity and giving rise to a Luddite nobility who outlawed most technology.

Elliot North has always known her place in this world. Four years ago Elliot refused to run away with her childhood sweetheart, the servant Kai, choosing duty to her family's estate over love. Since then the world has changed: a new class of Post-Reductionists is jumpstarting the wheel of progress, and Elliot's estate is foundering, forcing her to rent land to the mysterious Cloud Fleet, a group of shipbuilders that includes renowned explorer Captain Malakai Wentforth--an almost unrecognizable Kai. And while Elliot wonders if this could be their second chance, Kai seems determined to show Elliot exactly what she gave up when she let him go.

But Elliot soon discovers her old friend carries a secret--one that could change their society... or bring it to its knees. And again, she's faced with a choice: cling to what she's been raised to believe, or cast her lot with the only boy she's ever loved, even if she's lost him forever.

Title: Passenger
By: Alexandra Bracken
Published: January 5, 2016

Passage, n.
i. A brief section of music composed of a series of notes and flourishes.
ii. A journey by water; a voyage.
iii. The transition from one place to another, across space and time.

In one devastating night, violin prodigy Etta Spencer loses everything she knows and loves. Thrust into an unfamiliar world by a stranger with a dangerous agenda, Etta is certain of only one thing: she has traveled not just miles but years from home. And she’s inherited a legacy she knows nothing about from a family whose existence she’s never heard of. Until now.

Nicholas Carter is content with his life at sea, free from the Ironwoods—a powerful family in the colonies—and the servitude he’s known at their hands. But with the arrival of an unusual passenger on his ship comes the insistent pull of the past that he can’t escape and the family that won’t let him go so easily. Now the Ironwoods are searching for a stolen object of untold value, one they believe only Etta, Nicholas’ passenger, can find. In order to protect her, he must ensure she brings it back to them—whether she wants to or not.

Together, Etta and Nicholas embark on a perilous journey across centuries and continents, piecing together clues left behind by the traveler who will do anything to keep the object out of the Ironwoods’ grasp. But as they get closer to the truth of their search, and the deadly game the Ironwoods are playing, treacherous forces threaten to separate Etta not only from Nicholas but from her path home... forever.

Wow I didn't know that this was by the same author that wrote the Darkest Minds! :O But anyways whoa the plot of this book sounds really unique and a lot different from any of the books I have ever read.

Title: I'll Give You The Sun
By: Jandy Nelson

Jude and her twin brother, Noah, are incredibly close. At thirteen, isolated Noah draws constantly and is falling in love with the charismatic boy next door, while daredevil Jude cliff-dives and wears red-red lipstick and does the talking for both of them. But three years later, Jude and Noah are barely speaking. Something has happened to wreck the twins in different and dramatic ways . . . until Jude meets a cocky, broken, beautiful boy, as well as someone else—an even more unpredictable new force in her life. The early years are Noah's story to tell. The later years are Jude's. What the twins don't realize is that they each have only half the story, and if they could just find their way back to one another, they’d have a chance to remake their world.

I'm really taking a liking to contemporary books, and well this book is something that I've heard a lot of good things about so I'm gonna give it a try. The situation in this book sounds really interesting as we see how two kids who were so much a like find themselves repairing their lost relationship even with their seemingly clashing personalities.

Title: The Next Together

How many times can you lose the person you love?

Katherine and Matthew are destined to be born again and again, century after century. Each time, their presence changes history for the better, and each time, they fall hopelessly in love, only to be tragically separated.

Maybe the next together will be different...

Well honestly just looking at the plot of this book, I think I'm either gonna be crying or smiling the whole way through it. Cause "How many times can you lose the person you love?", phew that's already making me feel sad. So this is definitely a must read for me because as strange as this is, I think I'm in need of a book that will make me cry.

This is my daily rant about books! So have any of you guys read these books? If you have feel free to discuss it with me by commenting! ♥

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

Phew, first off all I'm so sorry that I've been inactive for so long. ⊙▃⊙

Title: Siege and Storm
By: Leigh Bardugo
Published: June 4, 2013

“The Darkling will hunt you for the rest of your days."
"Then you and I will have something in common, won't we? Besides, I like to have powerful enemies. Makes me feel important."
Mal crossed his arms and considered the privateer. "I can't decide if you're crazy or stupid."

"I have so many good qualities," Sturmhond said. "It can be hard to choose.”

True to my review of the previous book, I still don't really like the characters. Though, I do have to admit they did make some progression. The character I loved the most was Sturmhond, A.K.A Nikolai!!! ♥_♥ I don't know why I just have this disease where I'm attracted to sarcastic, funny, and well guys like Will Herondale!! I guess this can be called The Will Herondale Syndrome? xD But seriously, he's such a unique character. I get that he can be rash or ecentric at times but that is what makes him that more enjoyable. He is one of those characters that is brutally honest. He gets straight to the point. He knows that it takes sacrifices and ruthlessness to get what you want. Which made Alina think he's like the Darkling, but the one distinguishing fact that makes him different from the Darkling is that he has a heart, he's human. As the Darkling surrounded himself in the dark, Nikolai bathed in light by making lifetime friends.

Rather than Mal, I think Nikolai is the perfect match for Alina. Well if she ever gave him the chance. He may well be the one that relates to her the most. Because you gotta remember he has two names; Sturmhond and Nikolai. His personality isn't any different under those names, just his face. All his life he's been the prince, rumored to be a bastard. So he ventured out to escape the palace, he explored the world with a new identity where he explored and made a name for himself. Which changed his life. Being a privateer allowed him to encounter many things, so I don't care if Nikolai is a bastard or not cause he is fit to be the King. Like seriously Vasily deserves nothing, NOTHING.

I am tired of Mal and Alina. Their relationship is dull, unconventional, and simply pointless. He wants her to be the girl he grew up with. The girl who didn't know she was Grisha.  But that can't happen at all because now Alina has the weight of the world on her shoulders as she is the only one who can potentially destroy the fold.  She can never return to the girl who needed his protection. He wants her to be the someone who she can never be anymore. Do you see the problem there? They are both plagued by how one can move forward and how one cannot because he has one foot stuck in the past. Plus Mal is always constantly jealous when it comes to Alina and Nikolai. *I mean who wouldn't be?* He seemingly cannot trust her and that doesn't really spell OKAY. Cause in a relationship you should be able to trust that your significant other will always still true to you. So right now I'm just not seeing any future for them.

“Why won’t you leave me alone?” I whispered one night as he hovered behind me while I tried to work at my desk.

Long minutes passed. I didn’t think he would answer. I even had time to hope he might have gone, until I felt his hand on my shoulder.

"Then I'd be alone, too," he said, and he stayed the whole night through, till the lamps burned down to anything."

Now to the Darkling. Heh, I have so many confused feelings towards him. Who exactly is the Darkling? The kind, aloof, handsome guy Alina first met, or evil, manipulative guy she now hates? When we first met the Darkling I really liked his character. This might be a bit weird but I still somewhat love him, even if he's evil. Honestly if there was any way of redeeming his character or like a backstory about why he became the black heretic I would be happy. The Darkling is in my opinion a very misunderstood guy. He seems lonely, and the only way he knows how to keep himself from feeling that way is being a tyrant. Plus those visits he made to Alina's bedroom..  Alina thought they were a figment of her imagination, but apparently they weren't. He was there because she wanted him to be there.. That's kind of confusing, but that's what he said. Personally if he wasn't so evil.. I would ship him with Alina way more than Sturmhond or Mal.

Well this is how I feel about Siege and Storm, how do you guys feel about it? :D
Until then, Cindy :)

Book Haul of March

1. The Keeper of the Mist by Rachel Neumeier

Keri has been struggling to run her family bakery since her mother passed away.  Now the father she barely knew—the Lord of Nimmira—has died, and ancient magic has decreed that she will take his place as the new Lady. The position has never been so dangerous: the mists that hide Nimmira from its vicious, land-hungry neighbors have failed, and Keri's people are visible to strangers for the first time since the mists were put in place generations ago.

At the same time, three half-brothers with their own eyes on the crown make life within the House just as dangerous as the world outside. But Keri has three people to guide her: her mysterious Timekeeper, clever Bookkeeper, and steadfast Doorkeeper. Together they must find a way to repair the boundary before her neighbors realize just how vulnerable Nimmira is.

2.  Into the Wild by Erin Hunter

For generations, four Clans of wild cats have shared the forest according to the laws laid down by their warrior ancestors. But the ThunderClan cats are in grave danger, and the sinister ShadowClan grows stronger every day. Noble warriors are dying-- and some deaths are more mysterious than others. In the midst of this turmoil appears an ordinary house cat named Rusty . . . who may turn out to be the bravest warrior of them all.

3. Carnival of Souls by Melissa Marr

In a city of daimons, rigid class lines separate the powerful from the power-hungry. And at the heart of The City is the carnival, where both murder and pleasure are offered up for sale. Once in a generation, the carnival hosts a deadly competition that allows every daimon a chance to join the ruling elite. Without the competition, Aya and Kaleb would both face bleak futures—if for different reasons. For each of them, fighting to the death is the only way to try to live.

All Mallory knows of The City is that her father—and every other witch there—fled it for a life in exile in the human world. Instead of a typical teenage life full of friends and maybe even a little romance, Mallory scans quiet streets for threats, hides herself away, and trains to be lethal. She knows it's only a matter of time until a daimon finds her and her father, so she readies herself for the inevitable. While Mallory possesses little knowledge of The City, every inhabitant of The City knows of her. There are plans for Mallory, and soon she, too, will be drawn into the decadence and danger that is the carnival.

4.  The Raging Light by Estelle Laure

Her dad went crazy. Her mom left town. She has bills to pay and a little sister to look after. Now is not the time for level-headed seventeen-year-old Lucille to fall in love. But love—messy, inconvenient love—is what she's about to experience when she falls for Digby Jones, her best friend's brother. With blazing longing that builds to a fever pitch, Estelle Laure's soulful debut will keep readers hooked and hoping until the very last page.

5. Unbreakable by Kami Garcia

I never believed in ghosts. Until one tried to kill me.

When Kennedy Waters finds her mother dead, her world begins to unravel. She doesn’t know that paranormal forces in a much darker world are the ones pulling the strings. Not until identical twins Jared and Lukas Lockhart break into Kennedy’s room and destroy a dangerous spirit sent to kill her. The brothers reveal that her mother was part of an ancient secret society responsible for protecting the world from a vengeful demon — a society whose five members were all murdered on the same night.

Now Kennedy has to take her mother’s place in the Legion if she wants to uncover the truth and stay alive. Along with new Legion members Priest and Alara, the teens race to find the only weapon that might be able to destroy the demon — battling the deadly spirits he controls every step of the way.

My favorite cover from my haul has got to be The Keeper of the Mist, its so beautiful and I just love the plot. & If you guys have read any of these books, you guys can comment about it but do not give out any spoilers. Also I'm actually starting to get more into contemporary books, so if you guys have any suggestions please do recommend them to me! It would make my day :P

Until then, Cindy x)

~Review~ Anna and the French Kiss

Title: Anna and the French Kiss
By: Stephanie Perkins
Published: December 2, 2010
Source: Library

Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris--until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all...including a serious girlfriend.

But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?

*The reason I put up two different covers of the book: I really liked the 2nd cover but I got the first cover >.<*
This book, just wow.. I loved almost everything about it. I mean Eteinne? Oh my god. The moment he stepped foot into the book, I totally fell for him. He's like the best boy-friend I never had! Yet, because of all his feelings for Ellie *which always irked me* I did want to throw something at his indecisiveness. I mean you fall in love with another girl as soon as you see her? She's funny and gorgeous, and just your cup of tea? Then for gods sake dump Ellie and go for Anna. Cause we all know that your relationship with Ellie has been sour for a while. Speaking of Ellie, I do want to know her side of the story. Why did she suddenly go to another school and split up with her friends? Were they not good enough for her?

Also, I loved how the author didn't totally ignore all the other characters! The other characters added so much to the story and helped the character development. Like with Mer, she was the one who encountered Anna first, and made Anna feel welcomed in Paris. & Plus Bridgette, if she didn't go out with Toph, Anna wouldn't have realized about how much a insensitive pig Toph was. Though I think the only problem I actually had with some of the characters was Rashmi and Josh, I just felt that their relationship ended too abruptly, I know they weren't the main focus but still I wanted to see more of them. I mean I was just really unsatisfied about how their relationship ended.

I was actually pretty surprised at how I got into this book so quickly! I honestly don't read much contemporary books, so this was one of the few books I've actually read in that genre! Anna and the French Kiss was like a breath of fresh air, it shows such realistic situations and makes your feelings get all jumbled up. The main character Anna, though some of her actions might be questionable, they are realistic actions. We're not perfect, we are human beings and that just that. If I were her, I think I would probably do the same thing as her. Fall for the cute, witty, and cheeky boy who stole my heart and breath away the moment he stepped foot into my view. This book is just so different and unique, I won't put it on a high pedestal and say its one of the best contemporary books I've ever read since I haven't really read much, but I do have to say if you're looking for something different, something with romance and fluff, and something that will make you gush and smile, then this is just the book for ya! The reason why I really enjoyed the book, I think is because I've been actually learning French for two years!! Plus I'm also learning about the French Revolution in History class, and I recently got A Tale of Two Cities!! So yeah, if you get my drift I'm pretty sure I was gonna read this book one way or another with all these factors. xD

Until then, Cindy ^-^

Top 5 Books that I'm are dying to read

Hey guys, just a heads up I won't be posting as daily anymore because I'm trying to get through a massive pile of TBR books I got from the library, and its the time of the year for me when school starts to give us major assignments.. x_x Like I seriously have two huge papers to write that are due soon. But right now since I'm currently available, I'll be doing this quick post! :)

1. Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes

In the three kingdoms of Mytica, magic has long been forgotten. And while hard-won peace has reigned for centuries, a deadly unrest now simmers below the surface.

As the rulers of each kingdom grapple for power, the lives of their subjects are brutally transformed... and four key players, royals and rebels alike, find their fates forever intertwined. Cleo, Jonas, Lucia, and Magnus are caught in a dizzying world of treacherous betrayals, shocking murders, secret alliances, and even unforeseen love.

The only outcome that's certain is that kingdoms will fall. Who will emerge triumphant when all they know has collapsed?

It's the eve of war.... Choose your side.

Princess: Raised in pampered luxury, Cleo must now embark on a rough and treacherous journey into enemy territory in search of magic long thought extinct.

Rebel: Jonas, enraged at injustice, lashes out against the forces of oppression that have kept his country cruelly impoverished. To his shock, he finds himself the leader of a people's revolution centuries in the making.

Sorceress: Lucia, adopted at birth into the royal family, discovers the truth about her past—and the supernatural legacy she is destined to wield.

Heir: Bred for aggression and trained to conquer, firstborn son Magnus begins to realize that the heart can be more lethal than the sword....

One thing that caught my eye about this book is its quotes! One thing I absoblutely love about a book is if they have amazing quotes and this book has it, no actually it has it all. I mean wow this plot, this cover, everything about this book sounds so perfect for me. So  I recently found this book about a couple months ago and I go looking for it at my local library, just to see the library has all the books in the series except book one and I was so irritated at that. I mean you can't really start a series without the first book, like what?! Now here comes the dumb part of this story.. after going to the library for weeks looking to see if perhaps somebody just checked out the book, I go home and find out my brother has the book and I'm like face-palming myself. xD This is my shame.

2. The Maze Runner by James Dashner

If you ain’t scared, you ain’t human.

When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He’s surrounded by strangers—boys whose memories are also gone.

Nice to meet ya, shank. Welcome to the Glade.

Outside the towering stone walls that surround the Glade is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It’s the only way out—and no one’s ever made it through alive.

Everything is going to change.

Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying.

Remember. Survive. Run.

I've heard so many good things about this book series, and after watching half of the movie for this I was hooked! I haven't really read a dystopian book in a while and this just really caught my interest. So I am really hoping the book isn't hyped up for nothing.

3. Across The Universe by Beth Ravis

Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.

Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone - one of the few thousand inhabitants of the spaceship - tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn't do something soon, her parents will be next.

Now Amy must race to unlock Godspeed's hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there's only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming

Honestly I haven't really gotten into science fiction much, so I wanted to try a book in the genre and I found this. :P It looks like a pretty good book, but I am a bit wary of this since there a lot of mixed reviews for this book on Goodreads.

4. Bad Romeo by Leisa Rayven

When Cassie Taylor met Ethan Holt at acting school, sparks flew. She was the good girl actress. He was the bad boy about campus. But one fated casting choice for Romeo and Juliet changed it all. Like the characters they were playing, Cassie and Ethan's romance seemed destined. Until he broke her heart and betrayed her trust. Now the A-list heartthrob is back in her life and turning her world around. One touch at a time.

Cast as romantic leads once again, they're forced to confront raw memories of the heartbreaking lows and pulse-pounding highs of their secret college affair. But they'll also discover that people who rub each other the wrong way often make the best sparks

Whew I've got many, many things to say about Bad Romeo. Just looking at that cover makes me really want to read it, I mean just look at it! The cover matches the feel of the summary too and I love that! I do have to admit even after reading so many books, I still love cliches. Cause not all books that are cliche are bad. And I never get tired of the bad boy and good girl one.. I mean I think that might be my favorite one. Looking at this, I cannot wait to read it because I know this book will tug at my heartstrings.

5. Emmy and Oliver by Robin Benway

Emmy’s best friend, Oliver, reappears after being kidnapped by his father ten years ago. Emmy hopes to pick up their relationship right where it left off. Are they destined to be together? Or has fate irreparably driven them apart?

Emmy just wants to be in charge of her own life.

She wants to stay out late, surf her favorite beach—go anywhere without her parents’ relentless worrying. But Emmy’s parents can’t seem to let her grow up—not since the day Oliver disappeared.

Oliver needs a moment to figure out his heart.

He’d thought, all these years, that his dad was the good guy. He never knew that it was his father who kidnapped him and kept him on the run. Discovering it, and finding himself returned to his old hometown, all at once, has his heart racing and his thoughts swirling.

Emmy and Oliver were going to be best friends forever, or maybe even more, before their futures were ripped apart. In Emmy’s soul, despite the space and time between them, their connection has never been severed. But is their story still written in the stars? Or are their hearts like the pieces of two different puzzles—impossible to fit together?

I've actually been looking at this book for quite some time, because first of all have you seen the book cover? It's so gorgeous, yet so simple at the same time! Plus the rave this book has been getting is no joke, I mean the plot sounds so amazing and honestly I am kinda a sucker for the  childhood friends fall in love scenario. >//<

Until then, Cindy ♥ "Books are my friends, They are my companions, They make me laugh & cry & find meaning in life.  - Christopher Paolini, Eragon.

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

Title: Shadow and Bone
By: Leigh Bardugo
Published: June 5, 2012

Surrounded by enemies, the once-great nation of Ravka has been torn in two by the Shadow Fold, a swath of near impenetrable darkness crawling with monsters who feast on human flesh. Now its fate may rest on the shoulders of one lonely refugee.

Alina Starkov has never been good at anything. But when her regiment is attacked on the Fold and her best friend is brutally injured, Alina reveals a dormant power that saves his life—a power that could be the key to setting her war-ravaged country free. Wrenched from everything she knows, Alina is whisked away to the royal court to be trained as a member of the Grisha, the magical elite led by the mysterious Darkling.

Yet nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. With darkness looming and an entire kingdom depending on her untamed power, Alina will have to confront the secrets of the Grisha . . . and the secrets of her heart.

I actually was pretty surprised at how different this book was and it was good different!  But, *ha there's always a but*, I did have some minor problems with it. I wanted to see more of the surroundings of the grisha world. I mean most of the time Alina was just confined on the castle grounds, she never went out to explore the town or anything.  I mean Leigh Bardugo's writing style is amazing! It blew me away, because of how good her writing is. I loved how her writing style just flowed throughout the book and immersed us into it.

Though I felt the books pace was kinda inconsistent. The plot went really fast in the beginning and at the end, then it just really slowed down in the middle of the book. Now onto the characters! Hm.. I cannot say I absolutely loved all the characters cause honestly I would be lying. I wasn't too big on any of the characters. None of them really like made me spontaneously combust cause how awesome they were. Don't hate me but I just felt the characters were a bit mediocre, per se cliche..? I really did want more development on the characters. I get that there needs to be a villain in a book series and that he needs to have a huge impact, but I don't know.. For the first time I guess I really did not expect to see the guy I was rooting for not be part of the love triangle. O_O -sigh- Honestly I thought the Darkling would've been some sort of tragic guy who would open his heart to Alina, not some faker... -le cries- I was rooting for DarklingxAlina, but really I should've seen it coming, I should've been ready!!! I mean I guess he did "love" Alina, though it was just superficial infatuation towards her powers. But truthfully I didn't really expect her going back to Mal either.. I mean he finally likes her but he only realized that after she left. That's why I was sorta rooting for the Darkling in the beginning buuuttt we all know what happens in the end.(˃̩̩̥ɷ˂̩̩̥)

Even with the slight problems I had with the characters, I still will read the next book in the series, cause even though I didn't particularly like the characters, I loved the writing style and the world. Its pretty intriguing and I do want to know what happens next. Cause like you know the feeling you get when your about to get to the ending of a book and you're like, "what? This can't be the ending of it, there has to be more!!! :o", thats how I felt. & The fact is that I already got the next book in the series from the library! xD

Until then, Cindy x)
P.S. Guys have a nice Valentines Day! :)
